THE PAPERS Monday 13 May - Sunday 19 May 2024
In the past week, there were 26 articles about trans people across the Guardian/Observer, Times/Sunday Times, Mail/Mail on Sunday, and Telegraph/Sunday Telegraph and something remarkable happened - an article in The Sunday Times stuck up for Lucy Clark after JK Rowling targeted her for existing while trans. Their other article on Sunday is about a play that seems to be critical of JK Rowling, given it was initially titled “Terf C***”. That’s two articles in one edition of The Times with neither of them negative. Surely a sign of the apocalypse, or something.
As if that wasn’t enough for one week, not only did Sonia Sodha not reproduce her one column this week in the Observer, she had no column at all, which was nice.
